About Us

The Christine D’Clario Foundation is dedicated to extend help to leaders and individuals with their journeys of healing and wholeness. It was birthed out of our founder, Christine D’Clario’s own journey of mental health recovery, and a healing journey that compels her and our entire team to pay it forward to others in need of the resources necessary to achieve abundant life. Our focus is wholistic, nurturing mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health.

We believe that true healing requires tending to the whole person in all their fullness.

Through our diverse projects and resources, we seek to guide each person we serve towards a profound inner transformation.

Among these projects is pioneer mental health platform Soul Share Health, a fully functioning interactive community for those who are in crisis and/or healing, those who have been through rough journeys and now mentor others, and clinical mental health professionals that help guide through low-cost faith-based licensed professional counseling, group therapy, webinars, coaching, mentorship, self help tools, and peer-to-peer support.

Our mission is clear: facilitate inner healing, trauma resolution, mental health recovery, emotional fortitude, spiritual faith-based guidance, and physical health. We believe that by healing in these areas, all persons can become free of inner limitations and learn to live a true full and abundant life. We do all this with an unbreakable commitment of maintaining low or no cost per services. Everyone should have the access to healing well. And we strive to make that happen in the communities we serve.

    FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

    Christine D’Clario is an award-winning, GRAMMY-nominated artist, author, and entrepreneur who serves as President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Christine D’Clario Foundation. With a global platform reaching millions across English, Spanish, and Portuguese audiences, she leverages her voice to advance faith-informed mental health care. Drawing from her own journey through postpartum depression, Christine is a dedicated advocate for whole-person healing—mind, body, and spirit—especially among leaders and underserved communities. She leads the Foundation’s vision to expand access to care, education, and training. Christine lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband, Carlos Caban, and their two children.

    BOARD MEMBER

    Carlos Caban is an entrepreneur and strategic leader with over two decades of experience in business development, talent management, and organizational growth. As the long-time manager of award-winning artist Christine D’Clario, he has played a key role in expanding her global platform across music, ministry, and outreach initiatives. Carlos is also a co-founder of the Christine D’Clario Foundation, where he helps guide operational strategy and mission development. Known for his integrity, discernment, and steady leadership, he is deeply committed to building purpose-driven initiatives that promote emotional healing, spiritual formation, and lasting community impact.

  • Dr. Karl Benzio, MD

    BOARD MEMBER

    Dr. Karl Benzio, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 35 years of experience and a leading voice in faith-based mental health integration. As Chief Psychiatric Officer of Honey Lake Clinic and Medical Director of the American Association of Christian Counselors, he brings extensive experience in clinical psychiatry, leadership training, and faith-integrated care. His work bridging psychological science and biblical truth, along with his influence in public policy and professional training, makes his perspective a valuable engine to further the The Christine D’Clario Foundation’s mission in expanding accessible, faith-informed mental health care.

  • Jessica Shepard, MA, LPC-S

    BOARD MEMBER

    Jessica L. Shepard, MA, LPC-S, is a licensed professional counselor and founder of Little Love Counseling in Hurst, Texas. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in maternal mental health, trauma, anxiety, and family systems, using both evidence-based and holistic approaches to care. Jessica strengthens the Christine D’Clario Foundation through her clinical insight, helping shape programs that are both compassionate and grounded in best practices. As a mother of 6 children, her passion for supporting women and families makes her a valuable contributor to the Foundation’s mission of accessible, faith-informed mental health care.

ORGANIZATION

The Christine D’Clario Foundation (formerly known as the “Prodigal Heart Foundation” and referred to as the “Foundation”) was incorporated on November 12, 2021 as a non-profit public benefit corporation under the laws of the state of Tennessee. The Christine D’Clario Foundation’s U.S. Tax Employer Identification Number is 87-3540521.

TAX EXEMPT STATUS

The United States Internal Revenue Service has determined that The Christine D’Clario Foundation (formerly known as the “Prodigal Heart Foundation”) is a public charity and is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Internal Revenue Service has also determined that contributions to The Christine D’Clario Foundation are tax deductible to donors under IRC Section 170. We are also able to accept donations from “Donor Advised Funds” and Charitable Remainder Trusts. Donors are encouraged to consult their tax advisers regarding the tax deductibility of donations.
